I am an aunt and a godmother!  That's right!  As of May 22, 2007, I became the proud aunt of Charlotte Annalie Criswell.  She is ADORABLE and beautiful at the same time.  Here's a video for your enjoyment!  I know I LOVE it. :)

God brings amazing blessings into our lives.  How cool is that!? Enjoy!

This morning was an exciting, yet FREAKY time.  You'd think being home alone that there would be nothing to worry about right?!  WRONG!

I woke to a SNAKE in my house, Yes...a SNAKE in my house.  I tried to get it out of the house and was unsuccessful in what I did.  It crawled between the oven and the wall.  I pulled the oven out...NOTHING!  Then I saw there were cracks under the cabinets.  OH GREAT, there's a snake UNDER my cabinets now.

So I'm TOTALLY home alone this weekend.  Everyone seems to be out of town and I had no idea what to do.  I called my Dad, in COMPLETE panic, who told me to call pest control...but that was going to be WAY expensive!  Then I called my friend, Ashley, who is on vacation in Florida right now.  Her husband is still here and I thought he might be able to help.  So I called him...and he came over.  We spent FOREVER trying to find it.  He hadn't seen it, so it was a little like trying to catch the invisible snake.

We pulled off the molding at the bottom of the kitchen cabinets and with the handy, dandy hanger we tried to push the snake out.  Nothing...and I knew there was no way that I was going to be able to sleep or otherwise until it was found.

We were also looking on the internet to try and find what kind of snake it is.  By the way, snakes are NOT easy to identify!  I'm still trying to figure it out, BUT I don't think it was venemous.  Praise the Lord!

As Reuben was looking up different options online I thought I'd take a look.  Suddenly...the tail appeared and I squealed!  That's right, I did!  I yelled for Reuben who then proceeded to catch the tail with a shovel.  He then let go and it disappeared!  UGH!  So we pulled the molding off that as well and after much poking and prodding, we found it and killed it with the shovel!  SUCCESS!!!!!  And for those of you who think we shouldn't have killed the snake...try having it in your house! :(

My adrenaline is slowing now and I THINK I can proceed with my "quiet" Saturday!

It's been a while, but I thought I should just say life is not under my control.  God knew better.  I'm ready to see where HE's going to lead me and not where I'm pulling him along!  What a lesson learned!?
